start button The start menu in Windows does a fine job, but there are a few things on it that I can do without.  I’m sure that all of you have at least one or two things you would change as well.  Today, I’m going to show you how to quickly and easily change your start menu to your liking.

First, right click on the Task Bar then click on Properties.  A window will now pop up.  Click on the Start Menu tab, then click Customize.

A new window will now open with a General and an Advanced Options tab.  In the General tab you can change the size of the icons, the number of programs displayed on your Start Menu and the Internet and E-mail programs.

The Advanced tab will allow you to change some Start Menu settings and pick which items to display.  The best part of the Advanced options is the ability to remove the things you don’t want from the start menu.  A clean and clutter free Start Menu is a happy Start Menu.
