headphones I recently wrote Top 10 Ways to Discover New Music.  I received lots of great feedback and comments.  The commentators told me about several other sites and services that I’d never heard of before.  I thought that I should make a follow up post in order to include some of these other extremely useful music sites.

Without further ado, let’s get to the sites.

Grooveshark

grooveshark logo Grooveshark reminds me a lot of Last.fm, but it does offer a very unique user interface and an ability to build your own playlist.  Grooveshark also allows you to upload your own songs and access them from anywhere.

Slacker

slacker logo

Slacker is a great free source for online radio.  In addition to online radio, it has premium options and a custom portable device that allows you to take Slacker Radio wherever you go.

Jango

jango logoJango is a very simple but customizable Internet radio option.  It doesn’t add a lot compared to some of the other options except some extra ads.

Deezer

deezer logo Deezer gives a little international flavor, as you have access to the top charts in several different European countries.  This could really expand your horizons and knowledge of music around the world.

imeem

imeem logo imeem is the premier way to stream music to your brand new Google phone.

RadioBeta

radio beta logo RadioBeta allows you to search for your music by geography or genre.  This is definitely one of the most unique ways to find new music.

Wolfgang’s Vault

wolfgang logo Wolfgang’s Vault is the only place on this list that has a focus around live music.  Live music isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I don’t mind listening to a great concert from time to time.

nuTsie

nutsie logo nuTsie has a focus on top lists and allowing you to check out songs based on time frames.  It’s nice to go back and listen to all the songs from your college days.

MeeMix

meemix logo MeeMix allows you to build radio stations and then use mood controls to adjust them according to how you feel at any given time.  This is a very cool feature that helps you match the music to your feelings.

Live365

Live365 is another great Internet radio site that has tons of different options.  It has been around for awhile, but it still adds some value to the table.

    Hey Kyle,

Thanks for including nuTsie in your post. Although we are proud of our superb lists by year, this is nearly one feature. Maybe you did not have time, but our biggest bragging right is being able to access your iTunes library remotely (even if you home computer is off). Next, my favorite feature is creating custom playlists from the entire nuTsie music catalog and community. Hear and song throw it into any of your playlists or create a new one. nuTsie mobile is also a great way to take your tunes/playlists/created playlists with you on BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Symbian smartphone. Did I mention the massive slew of killer nuTsie iPhone apps? Search for nuTsie in the Apple app store. Do it often, we have apps poppin left and right.
