coda-fm-logoCoda.fm is new portal which aims to be the world’s first music only torrent index site. Coda.fm is a relatively new site, but it seems very promising due to it already having many new albums and innumerable artists and bands. The site not only has a very clean layout, but the navigation is also very well laid out.

Features

The single most important factor that differentiates Coda.fm from other sites like Mininova and The Pirate Bay is its focus on music. Unlike music albums on other torrent sites, Coda.fm doesn’t offer just the basic .torrent files for you to download but a whole set of other cool features. Each album is verified, has correct ID3 tags and contains album art and cd covers.

There is a separate page for each artist or band where you can read about them, check out their albums and see similar artists.  Each album page has the album release date and seed and peer stats along with a proper track list, download link and  album review.

Albums are classified by their popularity and genres, but you can also check out the top albums and top artists in their catalog. There is also a page for new releases and recently added albums, so you can keep a tab on music trends. Just like any other torrent site, you can upload torrents on Coda.fm.

Before going live, the administrators verify the album, add album art, add the album information and the review. So far, all the albums that I have downloaded had a bitrate of 320 kbps and were between 100 – 150 MB.

Registration is not necessary, but you do get benefits such as the ability to comment, a profile page, uploading of torrents etc for registering.

RSS feeds are also there so you can keep a track of new albums. So far, it has impressed me, and I think many other music fans will also be interested in it.

Please note that downloading music torrents is an illegal activity. Please inquire about your country’s law before proceeding.

Check out Coda.fm

Displaying sites to encourage illegal downloading? I was good with all the sites displaying how to discover “new” music but to simply download tons of music at no cost to us?

I don’t seem to see this post as to “help” the avid reading crowd other than to engage in illegal activities.

I’ve always loved the content on this site, but I don’t know about this.
