If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or you can subscribe by email. You can also connect with me on Twitter or FriendFeed. Thanks for visiting!

huffduffer logoMany of us create lists of links for blogs or to just update our friends on the latest things online.  LostInTechnology does the Weekly Links every week to inform everyone that the tools and websites keep coming.

Links are easy to copy and share, but what about podcasts?  I listen to some great podcasts that I would love to share with my friends.  Huffduffer allows you to not only share your favorite podcasts, but it also lets you create your own podcast out of your shared audio files.

Adding Audio Files

There are a few basic ways to add audio files to your Huffduffer page.  You can go to the home page of Huffduffer and add podcasts and audio files from their new, popular or tags lists of audio files.  You can also search all of Huffduffer to try and find what you are looking for.  Those ways work, but the most effective way is to use their bookmarklet.

Just drag their bookmarklet to your bookmark toolbar, and when you are on a page with an audio file you want to share, just click the bookmarklet.  This easy to use window will then pop up.

Make sure to give the podcast a title, description and tags.  This way your readers or friends will know exactly what you are sharing with them is about.

Your Profile

Your Huffduffer profile looks just like a blog, and it keeps track of all the audio files you’ve Huffduffed.  Just like most blogs out there, your blog has an RSS feed and the ability to let users comment.  You can also add a short bio and links to where else you can be found online.  Check out my profile here.

Subscribing to Huffduffer Audioblogs

In my opinion, the coolest thing about Huffduffer is that you can not just subscribe to the RSS feed, but you can also subscribe to it in iTunes.  This is a great way to constantly update your friends and followers on what podcasts or music you are listening to lately.  It may also be used to create your own little mashup of podcasts and mp3s you find online.

Conclusion

Huffduffer is a great idea and extremely easy to use.  I just got into listening to podcasts recently, and this is a great way to get other people into podcasting.  What do you think of Huffduffer?
