Follow Your Favorite Artists and Bands With Muspy

Unless you are always hooked to your favorite bands’ every move, it’s sometimes quite usual to find an album that is new to you only to find later that it had been released weeks ago, and your friends and everybody in the town except you has been enjoying their new tunes.
Well, here Muspy comes to the rescue. Muspy has a simple idea. You fill in your favorite artists, and whenever a new album is released from them, you will be notified by email.
You can track as many bands or artists as you like. More over, you can also see all the releases by a particular artist. You can either search for your favorite artists or import all your artists from Last.fm.
From the Muspy Homepage:
When one of the artists releases a new CD, you will receive a short e-mail notification with the album name and release dates. You can also see the new releases on the website sorted in the chronological order, or subscribe to the rss feed and receive release alerts using the feed aggregator of your choice.

In order to use Muspy, you will have to create an account, which is a 2 minute deal. But it is worth it. From then onwards, I am sure you won’t miss any new releases by your favorite artist.

Songbird, the open source media player, tells you about the concerts of the artists that are currently in your library. I thought that was an awesome feature.

Although i like Songbird, it still doesn’t strike a chord with my listening habits. I’ll wait until it climbs up to a newer and probably better version. Muspy is different from it as it is web based and anybody can subscribe with an email. Thanks for your recommendation anyway
