Everyone knows that YouTube is a great video service, but most people don’t know that the same model YouTube uses has been applied to presentations. You can see this model in action at SlideShare. SlideShare is a web application which is designed to make it easy to upload and share your best presentations.
Features offered by SlideShare are so beneficial that it has become a major online tool used my business men and lecturers to give and show off their sales pitches and presentations, respectively. The reason for this is that SlidShare sees over 17 million people use the service every month.
Features
Once you upload your presentations to SlideShare, you will be provided with a unique URL which can be used to share (publicly and privately) that particular compilation of slides. This shared presentation can also be set to be downloaded by anyone that browses to its location. In addition to sharing the URL of the presentation, you can embed the presentation in your website or blog.
Besides sharing your presentation by sending the link around or embedding it in your blog, SlideShare also makes it easy to submit your presentation to social networks like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.
There is a social side of SlideShare as well. You can make or join groups of like minded people in order to find more presentations around the subjects you care about. These groups are also great places to learn more about the topics you care about. I have found some great information from presentations posted on SlideShare. It’s never a surprise to see presentations posted from that conference you weren’t able to make.

Conclusion
If you are an avid user of PowerPoint, then SlideShare is a web application that you should try. It’s great for promoting your presentations or discovering new presentations to be inspired by. SlideShare will help you expand your knowledge of presentations and will help make you a better presenter by learning form others.
