Recently, I changed my bookmarking and sharing options at the bottom of each post to use the ShareThis plugin. I did this, because I wanted to give my posts a cleaner look. In order to be clean, you must remove the clutter of a bunch of bookmarking links.
I had seen the ShareThis button on several of the blogs I read on a regular basis, so I decided to give it a try myself. It is extremely simple to apply to your blog or website. Just go to their Get Button page, and download the plugin. Once you upload the plugin, you will need to customize it. In order to do this, you have to register with their website, but it only takes a few seconds and is worth it to make the plugin your own. I highly recommend this plugin, and I think the creators of ShareThis put it best in describing their product.
“It is becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with the growing number of web sites and social web communities. ShareThis lets you instantly access all of your profiles, blogs, friends, and contacts for easy sharing and updating. We think users should be in control of their online world.”
