paypal alternativesPayPal is an e-commerce service which facilitates money transactions on the Internet.  You can sync your PayPal account with your debit card, credit card or bank account.  There are varying options about PayPal.  Some users love it, and some love to hate it.

If you are one of those people who do not like PayPal and are looking for a trusted alternative, this list will surely help you out. Below are some the best alternatives for PayPal.

Moneybookers

moneybookersMoneybookers is an e-commerce company based in the United Kingdom with over 3.5 million users. Moneybookers is popular enough to be accepted by eBay which is definitely a plus.  It also offers all the features that a user expects from a sophisticated e-commerce service.

Its user friendly interface and easy sign up process makes it easy to get started with the service. Moneybookers is the closest you will get to the PayPal experience without using PayPal.

AlertPay

alert payAlertPay was founded in August 2004, and soon started to gain popularity because of its easier and quicker processing. Now, AlertPay is used in over 190 countries and supports over 21 currencies. It offers a robust and protected account to all its users (both buyers and sellers).

AlertPay does not charge any kind of registration fee.  It is linked with about 60 banks and makes the transaction process faster and smoother. With its excellent Customer Support, AlertPay offers a full fledged e-commerce service.

PayPay

paypayI believe PayPay is such an e-commerce service which is designed to offer all the features desired by any new or experienced user. I consider it to be the biggest threat to PayPal, and that is the reason that it is not valid on eBay (since eBay owns PayPal).

Users receive all their account updates through email and SMS. The account is free to sign up for, and it offers a desktop application that can be downloaded and used to access your PayPay account directly from your desktop, unlike other e-commerce services.

Conclusion

PayPal is definitely the dominate force as a way to pay for goods and services online, but any of these 3 alternatives provide an excellent experience as well.  Do you use PayPal?  If not, what service do you use to transfer money easily around the Internet?

Nice one Kyle. Still prefer PayPal for its localized Bank Transfer support, support at shopping sites, better fees and its trustworthiness. Hardly used AlertPay and MoneyBookers. PayPay sounds somewhat new, haven’t heard before.

With Paypal in such a dominant position this century, the space has not seen enough innovation. It’s due, and it’s coming. These companies above are examples as are new companies doing interesting social oriented banking things like http://www.wepay.com. If Apple and the iPhone move into this space there will be REAL disruption.
