isale-logoWhen eBay launched it was the second coming. Millions of people flocked to its services in order to be the first to sell this, or the first to acquire that. There was no doubt that the online world was never the same. Whether it was ready for it or not eBay would become an online merchant phenomenon that would go global.

Shortly after, came the evolution of eBay stores that would save the uninitiated and simply take items, sell them on eBay for people and in turn take a percentage off the top before paying the owner of the sold item. Seemed like a lucrative business, and for awhile it was, but ultimately the concept faded away and fewer and fewer of these strategies seemed viable.

Today, there is a great application that brings back the simplicity of letting someone else sell your stuff on eBay.  It’s called iSale!

What is iSale?

The application, iSale, is the modern day version of that outlet store that would sell items for the uninitiated.  The big difference is there is no percentage taken off the top. The user keeps all the funds and is provided with what is unequivocally the simplest interface possible for interacting with eBay.

iSale is an application for your desktop, laptop, and mobile device that functions as a fully customizable store front for all of your items. With an easy to navigate interface, there is no longer the struggle of setting up your online store, fronting your products, tracking bids and all the other work that can go into eBay.

The application was definitely made for the “every user” in mind because whether you’re a novice or an expert with eBay’s interface, iSale provides an experience that both sides would agree is easier to use.

iSale At A Glance

The iSale application provides the user with a fully customizable experience to tailor fit the auction. With over 222 templates to choose from, no auction item ever has to look like the one before. Once that foundation is established the rest is filling in information. Instead of a chore, the application makes it a fun experience that users will want to use again and again.

On top of these features, iSale also boasts the following:

  • Full integration of video to increase your bids
  • Edit and watch auctions from your iPhone
  • Import pictures without the fees assumed from sites where you store your photos; use iPhoto, iSight, Aperture, or PhotoBooth to store your pics
  • Create on the fly auctions in a matter of minutes, sell more items more quickly
  • At a glance views for all of your auctions without having to navigate the actual site; keeps the  most recent bids at your finger tips.

Conclusion

Overall the application is a win for the power- and casual use of eBay. My favorite feature by far is the pin board feature which allows you to pin your own auction item or auctions you are interested in. It’s just a nice aesthetic that offers a unique way of viewing your items but it goes a long way to prevent you from feeling like you’re just in any application.

iSale was built to fully utilize Apple’s OS and has won two awards for design and usability for 10.4 and 10.5. Currently, it sits as the premiere online auction management tool for Apple. As such, it’s no wonder why millions of Mac users have turned to this tool to help them manage and keep track of their auction interests.

Hi, I purchased isale several years ago and have gone through several pay upgrades. Sadly isale has always been more of a hindrance than a help. It’s extremely slow with more than a ton of glitches that the geniuses over at equinox never seem to iron out even after updates and paid upgrades. It’s like you never get the full usable product that you pay for or that you were led to believe get when purchasing. It seems to be to be more of a total fraud than anything. At this point it appears they have almost completely abandoned any focus doing anything to repair or improve things. isale has no option for item detail specifics that are now common on many ebay listings. I have to revise individually every item through ebay after listing and this takes twice as much time. Which time is what I thought isale was supposed to save me and that is just one of the minor issues. Of course I let them know this over at equinox over a year or two ago but they did nothing to fix it. The worst thing is how slow it is and how when you click on one of your prepared auction tabs it skips around to other tabs and sits there and spins and does nothing and it takes forever to get back to the item you want to upload or prepare. Earlier tonight it took me 40 minutes to list one item. I would really like all the money back that I have sunk into this through the years and I wish the people profiting from this would be arrested for fraud. I am now looking for a true upstanding listing tool if there is one out there for mac. At the time I purchased isale it was the only thing out there. Skip the isale and save yourself a major headache is my personal opinion and best advice. If anyone knows of a good listing tool Please let me know. Thanks!
