12for12k July Charity: Eye Care For Kids
Posted on 15. Jul, 2009 by Kyle Judkins in Miscellaneous
Last month, I told you guys about my participation in the great charity program 12for12k. It’s a new month, so it’s time for a new charity. This month’s charity is Eye Care For Kids.
A 501-c (3) non-profit organization, Eye Care for Kids has provided humanitarian aid to more than 20,000 children for more than six years. Their program helps visually impaired kids from poor and low-income families get the treatment they so desperately need.
One of the best things about 12for12k is that they make sure to let you know how your donation helps. Just a $25 donation will provide one child with an eye exam and a free pair of glasses! That’s a great investment for your hard earned money. To donate, look for the ChipIn! button in the sidebar of either 12for12k or Eye Care For Kids.
There are other ways to get involved besides donations. Just spread the word through any social site you use, whether it’s Twitter, Facebook or your own blog. Also, make sure to check out the site every month for updates on what the charity of the month is and to look at how our progress is coming along. You can also follow the charity on Twitter.
