I am proud to be welcoming our newest author, Doug Reynolds to the team. Doug has already written, How To Set Up a Local Web Server on Your Mac Using MAMP, and has some great articles coming up in the next few weeks. Let’s learn a little more about our newest author.
Doug is an application developer working in internet-related technologies since 1998, holds a degree in Software Engineering, and is active in the Portland Rich Internet Application user’s group where he resides with his wife and son in the Portland, Oregon area since 1996. In 2002, he began using Flash and writing ActionScript as his first object oriented programming language, discovered ColdFusion in 2005, and in 2006 found a new paradigm for ActionScript development, Flex Builder, now Flash Builder.
He has worked with development teams as both member and lead in a variety of venues and application types, ranging from small business identity to enterprise business, public utility, and major league sports. Douglas has a personal and technology blog located at http://dougr.net. He launched a light-weight application recently, based upon the Twitter API, http://tweepjob.com who’s primary purpose is to bring together job seekers and employers.
Additionally, Douglas writes a series of Flex-related eBooks under the parent title of FleXcerpts who’s site is located at http://flexcerpts.com. Douglas has always had an affinity toward teaching and has written numerous tutorials on the topics of Technology, ColdFusion, Flex, and ActionScript on his personal blog. In addition to writing, he enjoys meeting with other developers, attending conferences, discussing development technologies and problem solving.
Douglas feels that everything mentioned above is done in his spare time as God and family take precedence. He enjoys his time with his wife, Patricia, his son, Zachary, their puppy, Juno (lab/terrier), their kitty, Pebbles (long-haired something), and their fishes, Yellow (a Yellow African Cichlid) and Placaso (a Plecostomus of course). He loves the outdoors and spends time biking, camping, fishing, and hunting each year.
Wow! Doug has a lot going on. Let’s welcome him to the team!
