Put an FTP Client in Your Browser With FireFTP
In the past, I have always had an FTP client that was independent of any other piece of software. In my article Top 5 Free Applications Every Blogger Needs, I mentioned FileZilla as one of those necessary applications.
I still believe that FileZilla is a great application and would recommend it to anyone, but I must admit that I have switched to the Firefox plugin FireFTP. I have found that with Firefox 3 being faster than its predecessor I can use many more extensions than in the past and still get the performance I want.
Top 5 Free Programs to Clean Up Your Computer
Most of us don’t keep our computer as clean as it should be. I’m not talking about the exterior (although I’m sure that could be cleaned as well). I’m talking about cleaning up your hard drive and getting rid of all the unneeded junk that everyone accumulates over the years. You might have anything from partial installs to some nice malware or spyware. Either way, it slows you and your computer down. The following programs will help you keep your computer clean and running fast.
SocialAddict Brings Social Networking to Your Desktop
As a blogger that tries to constantly market myself through social networks, I am often frustrated by having to open so many tabs or go to so many webpages just to update my status. Sites like Ping.fm are making it easier through aggregating some of the updates, but it’s still another website to go to (if you don’t have a Ping.fm invite, get one here). I prefer desktop clients like Twhirl, if I can have them.
SocialAddict is a new desktop application that allows you to update several social networking sites from the comfort of your desktop.

Instantly Play Your Favorite Pandora or Last.fm Songs with Favtape
I have been a huge fan of Pandora and Last.fm for some time now, because they are great ways to find new music. However, sometimes I want to just listen to the songs I’ve bookmarked or “Loved” on the respective service.
Enter Favtape. Favtape allows you to listen to your bookmarked Pandora songs and your “Loved” Last.fm songs (up to 50 of them). You don’t have to listen to the songs in any certain order, as Favtape allows you to pick whatever song you want.
TweetDeck is a Great Desktop Twitter Client
A little over a week ago, I posted 26 Ways to Update Twitter where I mentioned several desktop clients for Twitter. After playing around a little more with TweetDeck, I decided it was worthy of a post of its own. TweetDeck adds new functionality and flexibility to your average Twitter desktop client by adding multiple columns, groups and search with Summize.
