No matter how open you are with friends and family, there is always something that you would like to be hidden. The same holds true for your virtual data on your PC/Laptop. It can be an embarrassing photo from your childhood, a document consisting of your personal account passwords or a list of your credit card numbers and pins.
The risk of having your private data being seen by others increases if the system you use is also used by your family or friends. For such a situation, you can try a file protection application like Sneasky.
Sneasky can be really helpful. It’s a compact little application loaded with a ton of features like protecting your files and folders and keeping them hidden from others, keep a list of your passwords and usernames, and help you in protecting your privacy regardless of whether the PC/Laptop you use is accessed by others or not.
Sneasky – A handy file protection application
The interface is extremely simple and minimalistic. By default, the application allows users to drop in files and data in a folder titled ‘Files’, which is stored on your desktop for easy access. This folder is hidden, and can only accessed using the Sneasky app. Fear not, as only the person with password only gets to access this folder.
The brilliant thing about this little application is that you don’t even need to install it on your system. It’s a plug and play app, which you can start using while stored on a USB device. Upon opening the application, a password dialogue box will ask you to set a password, which will then be the main ‘master’ password every time you open the application again.
Once you set a password, the application will go in hide mode, only with a small black and red line on your desktop. So, if at any time, you need to access the application (i.e. the hidden folder), simple double click on the black and red bar and enter your password to confirm your identity.
If correct, you will be able to see the hidden folder on your desktop. You can then copy any data you want to protect and hide. Click the red and black bar again will hide the folder again.
We at LostinTechnology.com love this app, and will definitely recommend to others who are looking for a simple yet effective application to protect and hide your most sensitive files and folders. Sneasky is available for download as an open source software, and is supported on Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows 8.ntioned earlier only shows up when you specify the custom password of your choice, and goes into hiding again whenever you want.
