This guide is only for the people with unlocked bootloaders, if your bootloader is not unlocked, then it is advised not to proceed. Unlock the bootloader first by following this guide.

1) First of all, you will need to install the USB Drivers for your Nexus 5 so you can transfer files from your computer to the phone.

2) Enable USB Debugging Mode on your Nexus 5, doing so will allow you to connect your phone with the computer and use Android SDK with it. To enable the USB Debugging Mode, go to Settings > About Phone and tap the ‘Build Number’ several times until you see a message saying ‘You are now a developer’ exit from About Phone and go to Developer Options and enable USB Debugging Mode.
