I haven't used vista so.... But QTTabBar standard buttons should be available under "Toolbars" menu or submenu. Usually toolbars submenu sits under the "View" menu. From there you can deselect old standard buttons and activate QTTabBar standard buttons. That's how I activated it on my PC when I used it.
